Teryl Taylor

Teryl Taylor is a Research Staff Member in the Cognitive Cybersecurity Intelligence group with IBM Research. He has ten years of experience in cybersecurity research. Currently, Teryl is investigating ways to make cyber deception a more effective deterrent for attackers through closer integration of decoy technologies and production systems. He received his Ph.D. in 2016 from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill where he studied network-based exploit kit detection, DNS-based botnet detection, and network analytics and data storage. Before pursuing his Ph.D., Teryl was the lead researcher and architect of the FloVis Visualization System for visualizing Netflow. He also worked on data structures and algorithms for analyzing Netflow.
